会議 [シネマ＆演劇]
最近ハマっている別役実戯曲。今回は1970年代に書かれた「会議」を東京・初台の新国立劇場で見た。われわれ人間に備わる「会議本能」を試す実験として街角に設置された会議室。そこに集まる人々の会話を通して戦後民主主義の実態、現代ニッポンにもありがちな会議の非生産性を描き出す。アイロニーに満ちた作品だ。
人が加わる度に話が脱線し、終いには論点がずれてしまっている。司会、議長が発言を許可し、会議を動かす権力を持つ。まあまあと議論を遮り、早く結論を出そうと焦る人、とにかく自分の主張を押し通したい人、しきりと仕切りたがる人。会議での「あるある」に頷きながら見入った。
同劇場演劇研修所の第13期生試演会。西川信廣演出。別役が仕掛けた問いは、さらに深く難解なものらしいが、不条理演劇の雰囲気を楽しむのも良いと思う。
